quirks and eccentricities

anyone have any little things they do that they generally don't tell everyone? i don't mean anything embarrassing or illegal,,,just things you do that you don't generally talk about?

there's one thing i do that i'll share. when i go to water the plants of my loved ones at cemeteries, if there's no one else around, i'll spend time watering every plant between the one i'm there for, and the water pump. i generally only do that at the local cemetery, there are two others i visit, but i only water my own plants there. but,,,,i also am the girl that leaves things at cemeteries,,i don't even need to know the person:-) a few years ago, shortly after someone i knew OF died, i left a fishing lure on the grave. at a different cemetery, i noticed that someone had clipped a $1 instant ticket to something at a grave. this intrigued me,,i figured that person must have really enjoyed playing the lottery,,,so i started leaving $1 bills clipped under the ticket...hoping that they would perhaps buy a ticket or two with the cash i had left. i don't know what they ever did with the money, i probably left a total of maybe $12...they stopped leaving the tickets, so i stopped leaving money.

it's fascinating, and oftentimes sad, to see what kinds of things people leave at cemeteries for their loved ones.

does this all sound weird to you? hahaha,,that's why i'm calling it a quirk, or eccentricity:-)

why do i do it? i don't know. maybe it helps soothe my feelings of uneasiness at death. maybe it just makes me feel like i'm doing something to honor a life,,,,i don't know. do any of you know why you do the little quirky things you do?

share.

a recipe

"casserole"

4 oz elbow macaroni

3/4 lb ground beef

1/2 medium onion, chopped

1/2 green pepper, chopped(i feed the leftover bits to my dog, daisy, she loves green peppers!)

1 large can whole tomatoes,,,,i squeeze them in my hand over the pot when it's time to add them;-) and don't throw out the juice! add it in with the maters

1 1/2 teaspoons catsup

1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce (i can spell it, i just can't say it;-)

1 small can cream of mushroom soup

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (i use more, which might be why i weigh a whole lot more now than i did when i graduated)

cook and drain macaroni according to pkg instructions.

brown beef, onion and green pepper, drain. add tomatoes AND JUICE, macaroni, catsup and W-sauce...simmer 30 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed.

pour into large baking dish, add soup and cheese, mix well, and add more cheese on top....bake at 350 for 30 minutes or so, until cheese starts to brown.

i add garlic powder to my serving, but that's just me....i LOVE this stuff! husband hates it, but the kid liked it, too. the kid and i rule!

my son

the video below is my son eric's original composition, both the flute and keyboard parts. to see more of his work, go to youtube and search for audiomancer,,he has 52 videos there. can you tell i'm proud?

is this not gorgeous?

an internet friend from australia sent this to me,,isn't that gorgeous? i'd love to see it....not much going on,,,the mustang engine that dh blew up has been replaced,,,we're waiting on transmission parts, and then it will be back on the road,,,i've missed having a convertable with the nice weather we've had.

parenting tip,,if you have more than one child, never ever leave the two of them alone or take your eyes off them for a minute,,,why? the older one will ALWAYS do something sneaky and hurtful to the younger one,,,,trust me.
